Mr. Rieger has focused in the area of matrimonial law for more than three decades. In that time, he has handled a number of challenging and complex matters, including several significant equitable distribution and interstate custody disputes. Mr. Rieger even set legal precedent in a landmark custody case involving the rights of a non-biological father.

As an authority in his field, Mr. Rieger regularly speaks to attorneys in continuing legal education programs. He is a past dean of the Nassau Academy of Law and serves on the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board. He has also held leadership positions in the New York State Bar Association’s Family Law Section New York Family Firm of Court and the Nassau County Bar Association, and he is a longtime member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
